One sunny day in 2018, I decided to give a neglected dresser in my home the love that it was missing. I loved the phoenix effect and seeing this newfound life flourish with it. So I then picked up a table and tried my hand at that… and then found myself working on all sorts of amazing pieces! From chairs to trunks, dressers, side tables and more, I could not get enough of renewing furniture. It’s a sustainable practice that is not only fulfilling, but also helpful to many - for example, I was commissioned to help someone bring her grandmother’s rocker back to its original glory. The owner of the chair was so thrilled to have that heirloom regain its beauty and actually use it! Learning about furniture makers, materials, and the history of furniture designs has also been another perk. Refurbishing furniture is something that I continue to practice and I sincerely enjoy this aspect of design. Below are a few of the pieces I’ve worked on.
